Re: Window Experience Index Scores

My Hard drives are killing me a bit but I can't complain. My processor was just upgraded to a Core Duo E6420 2.13GHz and I have it OCed to 3.0 GHz.

I think that it is dynamic. As the performance of pc's increase the 5.9 score will probably scale with them. I guess what I am trying to say is sooner or later when our current setups are old and gray, they will be posting 3.0's whereas the new 8 core processors with 3600 fsb speeds will be posting 5.9's(i am exaggerating on those speeds and cores...lol). But i think you get my point.

Re: Window Experience Index Scores

I don't think these score are fair at all. This is what I have in my PC at a glance:
  • ABIT IP35 Pro LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard
  • Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
  • XFX PVT84JYAJG GeForce 8600GT 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16
  • Patriot Extreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
  • SAMSUNG SpinPoint T Series HD501LJ 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
It's not super ultra hardcore but it's alright. It doesn't studder on anything (except for some windows born problems). But I only score a 4.8. and its my graphics card thats killing it and its a descent card. What could I do, to better my score?

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz 5.5
Memory (RAM) 2.00 GB 5.9
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 4.8
Gaming graphics
1279 MB Total available graphics memory 5.3
Primary hard disk
358GB Free (466GB Total) 5.6
4.8 Determined by lowest subscore

For the record that is a decent card, but you have to remember the 8600 and 8500 didnt really improve much over the last generation. So you will probably wont see a great improvement until you get a better card.
