Hi Malkman, Microsoft say WEI score of 4 is good, and 5 is excellent . Seems to me we can get too hung up chasing the elusive 5.9 across the board.

Too late, I just got my shipment of a boatload of equipment from newegg.com Lets hope that my new WD VelociRaptor will bring my score up a bit.

To my credit, I ordered it like a week ago.

Re: Window Experience Index Scores

If you have any G92 8 series (bar 8800GS), 8800GTX and Ultra, there's no point in going to the 9 series, as the cards are pretty much identical, apart from the GX2, which is probably the only worthwhile one to get for quad SLI if you want to go in that direction.

Though the 8800GTS 512s are quite expensive now I've found, so going for a 9800GTX+ if you're wanting something like that is probably cheaper.

Hi SIW2,

Sorry it took so long to reply to you... school has me busy these days.

I think it's already been pointed out that aside from the 9800x2, there's really nothing special about the 98's.

This is what happens to a third 5.9 when you break a stick of $230 RAM.

Re: Window Experience Index Scores

I dont know.. yes, I have a 4870x2 on its way from newegg, but my 9800GT 1GB is running Cod4, Quake4, and crysis at full settings with no freeeze and no stutter...I'm not complaining.. especially when my renders in Maya have tripled so its got a thumbs up from me. I havent even tried to OC it yet in Riva Tuner, but since the new card is on the way.. I might try to push it some to see what I can get..
