Re: Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Video Drivers

lol ok, Thanks

Whats the latest that supports it thats not official.. or should I stick to that old saying Someone from here used to say, If it's not broken, don't try to fix it.. cuz I'm not having any problems with my 175.16 But I'm just thinkin weather I should update or not.. thats all. Or just leave it like this a few more weeks til new cards and new prices drop!

Re: Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Video Drivers

Gunther,

You can give the 175.19 version a try to see. If it does not perform well, then go back into Device Manager and click the Roll Back Driver button under the Display adapters for your device to go back to the 175.16 version.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Video Drivers

Cool.. Well I did read that some of the new 177 drivers could be used on the 8800's.. is that true.. or only on the G92's?

Re: Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Video Drivers

Gunther,

No, the official NVIDIA 177.## driver versions is only for the 200 series cards.

They may have meant that some modified driver version form a source other than NVIDIA with that driver version may work with the 8 series.

Re: Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Video Drivers

OK.. I have gave in, I just got myself the eVGA GTX 260. I gave my choice a lot of thought. I VERY well almost got the 4870. but in the end I have a Nvidia chipset, and eVGA has a Lifetime Warranty, and a 90 day step up program. Both unlike any ATI. (Visiontek is only brand with lifetime warranty). so in the end, with the 2 cards performing Just about neck and neck.. at my res that is. the 4870 may be slightly better. but at 1680 x 1050 Where I use my 22" Widescreen. the 2 are almost identical in almost all game reviews.. from what I read. Not the mention that Nvidia can OC a little better than the ATI's. in the end this was just the Logical Choice for me.. might not be for everyone. but for me. It's just right..

So, I need Drivers. What should I get. I just got home. I am going to install the card in the next hour. Can't wait
So what Drivers should I get, what all do I need. Do I need to install the Drivers, CUDA, and Physics. or is CUDA and physics both in the same install.. If someone could link me to what all I'll be needing I'd very much Appreciate it ASAP..

Thanks.. and Pictures will for sure be coming soon. !!!!!!!!!!!!
