Well, my rebates on my RAM and PSU and case are approved - RAM and PSU (OCZ) were sent yesterday.

SO, I now have $90 to play with - and guess what is getting upgraded? Yup - 8800 is metamorphosing into a 260GTX - although I *doubt* eVGA is going to accidentally send me a GTX280....

Ya john, you should for sure get the 260 if you can. Much better than the 9800+.

and ya I was lucky to get a mess up.. but read my Last post on my ATI or Nvidia thread.. The 280 I just got is faulty.. and I've heard over 50% of people owning them are having similar problems.. It overheats to 105C within seconds of most games and crashes.. thats with the fan adjusted to 100% also.. I tried 80 as well.. It's a Shame, as I wont get another one this time around. But I'm MORE than ok with just a 260.

when you read my post. you'll see that many many people are having 280 problems.. only 2 out of like 60 had a problem with there GTX 260.. It's looking to be a great card. and I'll be completely happy with a 260.

On a sad note, though, I cannot Step up my mobo - the FTW is a limited availability product, and so I have to buy it and sell my 780i if I want to go that route....

But since I am OCing it is almost worth it - the FTW has 100% Solid State caps....
