Re: Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Video Drivers

Anyone try these drivers out yet? I just downloaded. I'm still on the 181's..

and the GTS250 is a desktop card, it's actually more than just a rebranded 9800GTX+. it's got a bigger fan, it's got a Thicker PCB, and it's actually like an inch and a half shorter. It runs cooler cuz the better fan and thicker PCB, and it's got a better clock. they are decent cards, and decently priced. and Nvidia is also releasing like a GT120, GT 140, and GT 150 or something like that for mobile.

check out the second photo for size.

I just installed these drivers and seem to work fine so far. Will try out GTAIV in the morning since I am at work. Thats the only problem I have been having is GTAIV not playing smoothly with my set up. Hopefully this will fix the SLI feature and GTAIV will enable SLI support.

seems like the drivers work great for online videos and high definition content but they seem to have slowed my gaming experience down, ive noticed slowdowns in Crysis, Trackmania united forever, flatout ultimate carnage, and lost planet colonies. but its probably because i havent fiddled with the NV default settings in NV control panel yet.

Thanks Brink!

really. well let me know how it goes, as I'll only update if I think it's worth it.

and becoming water . (What's ur name mean) like I said before, it might partially be that GTAIV doesn't have SLI support (Have you downloaded the SLI package from evga), but not only that, I think it's your CPU slowing down your GTX295. I know ur planning to get the Q9650, but in the mean time, you could take that Q9300 to like 3.3 Ghz or so.

The name is simlpy two words together. First word is from a song from NIN called the Becoming and I just put water at the end.

Is the SLI package for GTAIV? I have the ASUS GTX295

Yea they did, but the latest drivers will still have them. GTAIV doesn't actually scale with SLI. The driver Nvidia released (180.84 I think) for GTAIV added the SLI profile and if you enable the SLI bar in game, it doesn't move to show the scaling.

Rockstar still need to release a new patch for GTAIV that supports SLI.

Re: Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Video Drivers

thats sad, it's been out this long and Rockstar hasn't came out with a patch for SLI . thats a large part of the community that plays, is there a CF patch??

So, when we install new drivers like these ones. I don't need to actually download and install Physx anymore right. it does it for me?

Also, do I need to delete the old first.. physx?? I don't pay much attention to physx. it's not all that great "yet"

Re: Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Video Drivers

What's even more sad is Crossfire is already supported with GTAIV, just not SLI :/. Though it doesn't make much of a difference as GTAIV is very CPU dependent.

Physx gets un-installed when you un-install the driver, then the latest version is installed with the new driver.
