Re: The best graphic card

If that's the case, I'd like to get in touch with this person who has money to burn and try to get a loan from them. Yeah the G100 chip is late but it should be out this summer some time. That 9800GX2 isn't all that much better than a Ultra (same chip, mind you), why waste the money? To get a slightly higher benchmark? To get 2 to 3 more frames per second playing Crysis? There is no way that Nvidia can afford NOT to get a G100 card out by at least Q3 this year. If they waited until next year, their business would be going down the tubes. As soon as that new card comes out, watch for that 9800GX2 price start dropping like a rock (and used ones showing up on Ebay and selling forums). There will be a lot of people out there that wished they had waited to get the newer card.

Re: The best graphic card

I'll be the first to admit that it is one hell of a card...can't imagine the power when in SLI.

But....the G100 chip (was due in March) is suppose to be a totally different chip; the G92 just being a slight upgrade from its predecessor (G80); and it is suppose to leave the G92 in the dust. If so, I'm almost afraid to see what the price of the card will be. Nvidia is running late....but I suspect the G100 card will come out this summer or early Fall. The rumored release time is so close, I can't really justify spending 600 buckaroonies on the dual- G92, even as cool as it is.
Now, if someone would like to get me a birthday present right away, I wouldn't mind that 9800...

I am not even sure a card that big can fit into my current desktop. :P

Re: The best graphic card

the 8800 GPU's are legendary and kick***, I couldn't care less about the 9 series...and after what I have been reading up on forums lately...it isn't good.
I have an 8800 GTX OCII, and I love it, so much I just ordered 2 more ...gotta love 780i's mobo's ehh?
