Re: How come i cant see it

Having those nvidia services shouldn't be a problem, Bubba. nvidia media center used to be the extensions required to alter the settings of your video card from the media center front end. I am wondering about the Setpoint drivers for your G15. What version are they?

As far as raks problem, the driver may have a problem with the TV. As for setting it up, try this:

EnTech Taiwan | Utilities | PowerStrip

Nice little utility I've used since Windows 95 to alter my display properties. It is Vista x64 compliant although I don't have it loaded now. It even allows you to change gamma in game, without getting out to the menu. It's pretty slick but with an LCDs limitations I've never fired it up with Vista. Careful with it, though. It really gives you total control over your display. I think I may fire it up and see if I can change my refresh. My LCD does support 72Hz.

I'm not looking it up again to post. Sorry. Try google DX10 though and you'll find it.

Re: How come i cant see it

Thanks for link, but i dont see dx10 update all of them are for dx9c, should i get the latest dx9c update since i cant see a dx10 update file, wierd ?

Also about my refresh rate which i cannot set, ive use powerstrip when i try to move the bar for refresh rate i cant its greyed out, and also in the same screen trying to change the windows default to anything else it wont hold it jumps back to windows default.

I cant believe in XP i could set my refresh rate to anything i wanted using the drivers eg

800*600 @ 119Mhz - desktop

1024*768 @ 119Mhz - gaming

and now in vista64 im stuck at 25hz in desktop and gaming, there must be a way of getting my refresh rate back.

Thanks all, really appreciate your help so far.

Re: How come i cant see it

Hello.

I followed the links and got to this download page at Microsoft. It says it's an update to 9.0c (and previous versions of DX) and is dated March 2008. While the page does not specifically say DX10, I'm sure thats what it is.

You can go there directly here: Download details: DirectX End-User Runtime

I hope this helps.

What does Vista recognize your monitor as? You may have to use the XP .inf file to give Vista the complete mode selection of the monitor. If Vista doesn't know what your monitor is and what it supports, it will assign it the most generic driver with the most conservative refresh rates so it's not damaged by the user messing around in the video control panel. So, that being said, we know it's a Philips, so give us a model number so we can see if you have an .inf file available. I'm assuming if you could set the refresh at 119Hz in XP, an .inf file is out there somewhere.
