Re: Latest NVIDIA System Tools

Hi Abiosis,

It said that it needed to be uninstalled first when I installed it, but it still installed it anyway for me. So it is not clear why it suggested that when it works with the old one installed, at least for me it did. You might uninstall the old one first to just be safe.

Re: Latest NVIDIA System Tools

Hi John,

It's basically the new version of Ntune, but it actually works properly now for Vista.

Re: Latest NVIDIA System Tools

lol not with mine - I had my OC set exactly where I wanted it - 1500 FSB and 1000 MHz (500 Dual - I think - BIOS shows 1000, CPU-Z shows 500 - but when clocking my memory I am supposed to take the 'rated' clock according to the BIOS, right?) but then every time I loaded The nVidia system properties, it would change the values on its own, back to a very small OC - and I could not for the life of me figure out why my system kept underclocking my overclock....

At least for now, I am avoiding loading this thing.

Don't get me wrong, it *works* like it is supposed to - except that the default profiles in there are horribly weird, and even weirder, it never really tells you when you have a profile loaded or not, - but as a system monitoring tool it works fine, albeit a bit slowly compared to others out there.

Re: Latest NVIDIA System Tools

I hear you John. It takes a bit to figure it all out. I have not played with it much since my graphics cards was pre OC'd.

Re: Latest NVIDIA System Tools

So is mine, actually - well, maybe not OC'd, because I compared specs on an 8800 GTS 512 OC and my card, and though I only have a 256 bit interface, I am actually already running higher stock clocks....

But nTune is not just for the Graphics - it is for nForce based mobos as well - and mine is - and thus I am loathe to play with it - however, I know what to look for and may install it just to see what it finds. Plus, since it is ESA compatible (unfortunately, my case is not, and I cannot remember if my PSU is - but I don't think it is) that helps a bit cause it can really check out things.

One really good feature was the component browser - although a bit gamey, you can set it to show all the temps, voltages, and speeds, both in numerical format and graphs, and set the transparency on it so it hovers on your desktop all the tie - that feature is very handy, because it prevents me from having to run 4 different apps to get all that info and have it updated in real time....

6.0.1 kept asking me to install the 9.64 nVidia nForce drivers, which I had already done - for some odd reason, though, it kept asking every time I checked for updates.....

Re: Latest NVIDIA System Tools

Does this Ntune for Vista x64 works better than Riva Tuner?

I had Ntune with my XP Pro OS and it kept messing me up (crash, freezes or underclocking) so I had to install Riva Tuner. I am using neither at the moment but I would love to be able to OC my CPU and GPU again now that I have installed Vista.
