NVIDIA PhysX System Software

OK, that ;'s all good but I have tried 3 different modded drivers for the G92 8800GTS (one I modded myself using WinMerge, and the nv_disp.inf file form the 175.19 driver merging into the 177.41 driver) and none of them worked.

However, I didn't realize that I might need the CUDA software too....

you dont..... its not a requirement


it just allows you to enable physX ..

Ahhh - then I am stuck with release drivers, cause I cannot get a single modded 177.41 x64 Vista driver to install....

Hmmm, I just had an idea...wonder if I need to uninstall the 175.19 first?

tell me you didn't try to install the modded drivers over the WHQLs

it has to be a fresh driver install ....CUDA first then modded 177.xx

prepare yourself for this..... physX enabled cards & drivers can produce a 10,000 point CPU increase in 3Dmark06 !!!!!!!!! (ive seen it)

but i shouldnt really be placing this information here (think it makes shawns job harder when ppl ask for 3rd party drivers which can be potentially hazardous)
....these setups require a understanding of how the drivers work which most ppl who visit this site do not have
...(ALWAYS INSTALL WHQLs UNLESS YOU FEEL CONFIDENT YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING)

im about to get physX running on my rig but i had the GREAT SP1 issue which i need to sort before upgrading my 175s

excuse my inexperience here this is also new ground for me...but from what im hearing
physX is a must have for G92

Please let me know how the modded drivers go when you have the physX enabled. I'm curious to see how much improvement or not there is with them.

please bear in mind BRINK (shawn) cannot officially support the 177.xx mods as these are not supported by nvidia & any information you view in this thread is ''AT YOUR OWN RISK''

though hopefully john is also able to get it working as i cannot currently bench ...
due to my sig 4gb gskill dying ...im awaiting RMA & running the rig on some back up white label 667mhz stuff ...so i have lost my OC completely so i cant compare currently to my existing scores.....

but im very excited

ok update.....i cant bench but i have been playing COD4 for nearly 2hrs
& i gotta say im SUPER IMPRESSED !!!!!!!!!!! even with no OC & crap ram im now able to play with 4x AA full AF@ 1680x1050 all high at a constant 65 - 70fps

on 175.16 there was visible chop with 0x AA .....

gonna try COH ... everything maxed
