3+ Monitors?

What video cards and software would I need to run 3 monitors at once?

I'd like to keep running dual monitors, but also output to my tv as well.

I have an GeForce 8500 GT on it right now and 2 open PCI express slots.

Any help would be awesome.

i think you will need another 2 8500s to run 3 independent monitors
with SLI disabled.

otherwise they will mirror each other...

Re: 3+ Monitors?

Using a PC with less that 2 monitors is just a waste.

Re: 3+ Monitors?

And nVidia and Matrox also make quad head cards, right?

hdmi or vga. my tv as the option for either. right now i have it hooked up to it using an s-video cable. the only problem is the quality, and i have to disable one of my other 2 monitors to use the tv.

is that the 8600 GT or GTS?

and are you using express x16 or just express slots? sorry to ask you so many questions. Im trying to figure out if I need to buy just another card, or 2 new cards.

thanks again. i like your setup alot.

does the nvidia software already recognize 2 cards, or do you have to do some more steps.

Re: 3+ Monitors?

Hello rednoved, welcome to Vista forums!

I'm using this card so I can run HDMI out to my 47" TV/monitor.
Now I didn't look real hard, but this is one of the few I found that
has a true HDMI out (one HDMI and one DVI); others only go through a DVI adapter.
It is pointless to me to bother with HDMI to run it through an adapter!
You would not believe the image difference between my 22" DVI (1680x1050)
and my 47" HDMI (1920x1080) I'm very glad I got a card with true HDMI out.
If at all possible get a true HDMI out card and go that way, you'll be glad you did.

@z3r010, are those in SLI?
