Re: Best NVIDIA card for my DELL GX270

According to these guys that's only $40.15: Calculator for Pakistan Rupee (PKR) Currency Exchange Rate Conversion

Do I have that right?

The cards you picked all fall within that price range, and if your only concern is enabling Aero, then they will work just fine; however, if you could scrape up just a few dollars more (~$20.00), then this Raedon would be your best option: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161052

You can probably find one cheaper in your neck of the woods, so don't get immediately discouraged by newegg's pricing.

yes it does require a 350w min but my point was it only requires that through the PCI bus ....there is no PSU connection on this card

OK, then attached is a pic of my VisionTek x1650 Pro card right out of my old box.

Look under the AGP menu and you'll find cards that work for you. Here they are:
Inno GeForce AGP FX7300GT 256MB (128-BITS)
Inno GeForce AGP FX5500 256MB (128-BITS)
XFX GeForce AGP FX5200 128MB (128-BITS)

Re: Best NVIDIA card for my DELL GX270

Hi alishan

are you saying you want to fit DDR2 RAM in a DDR slot...?
DDR is a 184pin DIMM....
DDR2 is a 240pin DIMM...

sorry

that's a PCI-E card ...if your board has one of those then you should have no problem.

but its unlikely considering you listed AGP cards in the OP there are very few boards if any which sport an AGP slot & a PCI-E slot

Re: Best NVIDIA card for my DELL GX270

You may also want to upgrade your power supply. The power supply the GX270 ships with isn't great. You can't just replace it with any old power supply as it has a proprietary connector. Here is where I was able to buy a better one. It is the only place I could find that sold a third party power supply that would fit a Dell.
