if anyone knows what this means and how to resolve it if it's even possible that is.

i'm using the 8.8 drivers and have tried the 8.7 and 8.6 and 8.5 drivers to see if they worked but the same thing happens. it happens less when i turn off anti ailiasing!!

any help with this would be great

i reported it to ATI so i'll find out if there is some other problem soon.

Re: screen goes blank?

Hi gazz496,

Sounds like the refresh rate needs to be adjusted. If you go to display properties > advanced settings button > monitor tab you can adjust the refresh rate there.

Re: screen goes blank?

Sounds like it could be bad drivers or an insufficient PSU.

**edit**

I just noticed you're also having problems with your installation. Perhaps clearing that up will also clear this problem up?

Re: screen goes blank?

Yes, I'm referring to the issue you have with your upgrade DVD. I have not really been following the thread, but am aware that you've got an issue with your basic Vista installation. Fixing Vista may kill two birds with one stone?

As for your PSU, I don't know if it's good enough or not? Wattage tells you nothing really and is a misleading and meaningless indicator when it comes to graphics cards. The only thing that's important is the amperage on the +12 volt rail. What's yours?

btw, what song is your favorite?

Re: screen goes blank?

i didn't put myself up as doll's number one fan lol no problems with my installation of vista it was a query as to whether i could upgrade 32 bit to a 64 bit using the upgrade pack i decided to get the full version and do a clean install the problem only started when i changed to vista x64 and goes away wheni turn off anti aliasing so it's going to be a driver fault not heard from ATI on this yet so maybe they have a fix for this issue.

thanks for all your help on this
