@ xguntherc, Thanks for the tip re: eVGA Precision. Using it on my Zotac GeForce 8800G now. Works like a treat.

Re: RivaTuner question

Well Thank you sir, I've been workin on it a while. and soon will be adding a Q9550 to it.

You got a nice system yourself there. with your 2TB of space. get a second Samsung 206. and you'll love it. Now I've got 2 screens. I'll never go back.

Re: RivaTuner question

RT isn't necessarily the easiest program to learn to use but once you do you will thank yourself for spending the time learning it.

Re: RivaTuner question

I had it running last night on CoD4 and Quake4.. the auto fan setting are working. ( I think ) but I still havent gotten it to show up on my screen during game play like fraps will..but atleast the fan settings are working so far.. but even with it @ 80%, its still warm..this case just stays warm.. even with three fans.. Back to see if I can get the OSD to work...also looking to see on the web if I can find some good clock speeds for the card..I will probably look at the manufactured OC'd 9800's to see whats a good starting point.

Re: RivaTuner question

Yeah, I've been looking at all the OC and SOC clocks on some cards at Newegg, still not sure where to start.. guess its gonna be trial and error.. stock is 600/900/1500...in RT though.. I noticed that the upper number on the slider for mem was only like 1325...alot of the OC versions of this card are running like 1800-1900 mem?? Gonna have to start getting some advoce and see whats the numbers I should be looking for on this card.. the 1GB version I'm running isnt too common, so OC versions arent seen. But I'll be searching here in just a minute to see ....honestly, my card wasnt even on the Nvidia site for comparison...

Oh.. and I got the OSD running now...

Any good free benching apps? or should I just go ahead and pay for the goodstuff..( 3dMark??) This thing isnt breaking any records.. but I want to be able to OC safely on the card for game play only so I was looking for something to run stress testing in OC on the card. Thanks all!!

Re: RivaTuner question

well you can download a trial of 3DMark06, and vantage. I'd do Mark06, it's more popular still. its a great program. and it sort of test your stability of Oc also. not actually tests the OC, but you'll know if it's not stable. cuz you wont finish a benchmark.
