| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: How do i enable onboard intel GMA 3100 with nvidia 8600gt Quote: If multiple graphics adapters are present in a system, all of them must use the same WDDM driver. If there are two graphics adapters with WDDM drivers from two different manufacturers, then Windows will disable one of them. The VGA adapter will be enabled, and the second device will be disabled. So even if you did manage somehow to enable the onboard Vista will only use one of them. |

| Vista Ultimatex64 Windows 7 build 7100 | Re: How do i enable onboard intel GMA 3100 with nvidia 8600gt If I understand you right this function is only available on certain motherboards, (eg Asus M3N-HT Deluxe/HDMI) where the graphic card (nvidia 8600gt) does the graphics for gaming and the onboard chip (intel GMA 3100) does the 2d graphics. This is thought of as a way to save power. The same hybrid SLI technology also allows the two to work together. If you have a motherboard that is designed for this I would recomend that you look in your manufactures handbook. Also note a bios update may be necessary! I hope this helps Pooch |

Quote: Hybrid SLI® technology, based on NVIDIA’s industry-leading SLI technology, delivers multi-GPU (graphics processing unit) benefits when an NVIDIA® motherboard GPU is combined with an NVIDIA discrete GPU. Hybrid SLI increases graphics performance with GeForce® Boost and provides intelligent power management with HybridPower™. |

| Vista Ultimatex64 Windows 7 build 7100 | Re: How do i enable onboard intel GMA 3100 with nvidia 8600gt yes we were both saying the same thing, I only used the original named card and on board device as examples that were already mentioned. perhaps unintentionally a little confusing. |
