Vista - Direct x problems

Hi all !

I learnt from this forum that Vista comes with Directx 10 included. Great - however I tried to install a PC game for my son (Playstation Castaways) and it keeps complaining that none of the Direct x 9 drivers are installed and it cant continue. Any ideas on how to fix ?

download and install Direct x 9 . from other posts here thay say it will not hurt the Direct x 10.

I have in fact downloaded the August 2008 version of DirectX 9.0c. When I click to install it asks me where to install. Is there a specific place to install to because I just created a folder called DirectX (sorry but not totally literate here) and unzipped to there. Then clicked the "install" file. Then when I again try to install the game it either tells me there a conflict OR still tells me there are no DierctX drivers installed.

did it install all the way for you? if so maybe try rebooting the system and see if that helps you. if all else fails there's other posts here about the Direct x 9 .do a search and see if someone else has that trouble and how thay fixed it. also (admin brink) is
always a good one to find a fix . maybe leave a message for him and see if he can help you..
