which lcd monitor should u go for?

hey people. hows it going. haven't been around much. ill make up for it. anyways ill be getting a lcd monitor soon. any comments on which one. my budget is around 400$-500$. and i was just surfing and i came across the viewsonic x-series 28". i wouldn't mind owning that. any comments on alternatives for it?

and the thread heading is actually which monitor should i go for? lol sorry for that.

It comes down to brand preference, really. This is because the LCD panel itself is usually manufactured by a third-party and then just "implanted" into a casing by whoever makes the monitor itself.

Specifications to keep an eye on though would be:
  • the refresh rate (express in ms). The lower the better
  • contrast ratios
  • native resolution. And be sure that your graphics card has enough horsepower to drive your chosen LCD monitor native resolution. Running an LCD monitor at anything other than native res produces some horrendous results.
