Hi,

I got a problem with my resolution, I cant choose higher than 1024x768.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled, cleaned all drivers both for my screen and video card, nothing works. When I have uninstalled my grapich card i can choose higher res, but when I reinstall it, it will set back to 1024x768.
I have looked all over but cant find anyone with the same problem, please help me!

Thank you in advance! :)

Welcome to the forum!

Where did you get those drivers? There are new ones available at the nvidia website, here's a link: GeForce Release 178

Did you always have this problem, or did it occur after (un)installing new software, drivers, hardware,...?

If, on your desktop, you do right-click > personalization > Display setting. What does it say? Do you have a default monitor and the brand monitor?

My Computer

I have now tried the video card in an other computer, there it showed 1280x1024 (the resolution Im wanting) with an (dont know the correct english word) "Common Pnp monitor". Does that mean my monitor drives are uncorrect? I have downloaded them from Samsung for Vista x64 ... Anything else that can be wrong?
Can I install a "common pnp monitor" ?

Have you tried using that Geforce 9500GT as default, so not the samsung one, in the screen? Try that and put it on 1280x1024 on the 9500 GT, not the Samsung,... I think it was one on your pic...

Hi,

When I have uninstalled my grapich card i can choose higher res, but when I reinstall it, it will set back to 1024x768.

I think there is a problem with your graphics card. When you say "I've uninstalled my graphics card", you mean that you are running ith the onboard graphics card, right? If so, it means there's nothing wrong with the monitor, nor with the OS, drivers, ... but rather with you graphics card itself... Try installing it in another pc and see if it acts the same.

I did install it in another computer today (see above), after that it doesnt feel like its the card or ...?
When I uninstalled my graphics card my monitor is still plugged in the grapichs card, it just runs on "defualt", without any 3D abilities. Then I can change my res higher.

Well, if the graphics card reaches the 1280x1024 hen it isn't that, can you try the monitor on another graphics card? If you don't have a lot of data on your HD yet you can try reinstalling vista...

Yes I can understand, I had it on my laptop once, everything was all blury and faggy...:p

Otherwise, I think I'm out of suggestions, really...

Try the monitor on another GPU (a friends or something) and if that don't work, maybe try reinstalling vista...

Sorry mate...:p

My computer is brand new but Im using an old monitor, but before I have only used it with XP and then it has been no problems with resolution.
I have mailed Samsung again to find out if they have new drivers for the monitor. First time I mailed them they said it has to be the grapich card...

I havent installed anything except Vista and Wow on the hdd so im thinking of a reinstall of Vista...
