driver problem ?

I recieve the folowing error when trying to play any game or use google earth: "Display driver atikmdag stopped responding and has successfully recovered". I have vista ultimate 32bit, two monitors powerder by ultramon and radeon x1550 graphic card(newest drivers installed).

Has anyone the similar problem ? Has anyone idea where is the problem ?

Re: driver problem ?

the only permanent fix i found was to remove the second monitor

i did get it reasonably stable by uninstalling all ati software and then go to device manager and install the drivers for the card there and not use the ati installer

Hi chinga69

Are you still having sucess with the nvidia? I have the same ati issue with 2 monitors, and am looking for options.

Re: driver problem ?

Have you guys checked your Device Manager to see if both your monitors are there and not just the Generic PnP & Non-Pnp monitors? the answer might be as simple as updating your monitors drivers for x64 profiles.

Thats great news. Im still trying to stabilize my system. Have done the same, removed ATI, CCC etc.. and now using nvidia.
It's a 2 week old build, it's getting better !

Thanks for your assistance

Sorry for the delay in responding to your reply. I did check the Westinghouse site for drivers for my 2 lcd's, there are none there

Thanks for your response.
