What is the average temprature??

the reason for asking i was thinking of over clocking it a bit with Rivatuner but i dont have much fans only the PSU one case fan holes thats in the case alot a CPU Fan and of course the fan thats on the card right now according to speed fan it always runs at 43c-45c most of the time idk how to check whiles playing games but yeah

Re: Whats the average Temprature for a geforce 9600 gt?

i was not aware that ''speedfan'' would detect GPU temperature..??

the highest you want to take any GFX card for 24/7 use is about 75-80c, it will do 90c for short bursts, but anything under 80c is fine for load....

if your card is @ 45c idle then im guessing load wont be that high, so there's a little OCing room there, but the increase in performance is going to be very small, on a card like that you wont even notice a difference in the real world IMO...

please send me a pic of speedfan..... im willing to bet its reading something else.

is your 9600 a single slot card..?? if so there's no way its idle @ 45c, unless your rig is in the garden...lol

well, that's the first time i have seen speedfan reading a GPU..?? :( why do i not have that sensor..??

thats a very cool card!!, crank it up mate..... use ''ATItool'' to test for artifacts as you go..

if you bugger this up its gonna force a reboot, so don't push too hard...

Yep ..it works on all cards.......;) don't alter frequencies with it use rivatuner for that, just use the 3d cube for benching.....

lol..... keep going till you crap out with artifacts, or the temp goes above 80c...;)

the 3d cube will let you find the smallest artifacts, so you know your OC is solid!!

It's the newest version of Speedfan that reads GPU temps, Skunk ;)

I've never gotten ATITool to work on Vista 64 either :(

Lol oh well ill just test the graphics playing COD5 and checking the temp every now and then to get a solid average but so far i see is 52C-54C im probably going to stop at 60C then go buy a artic cooler heatsink attach and see what happens lol

My Computer

Those temps seem fine really, and I don't think an aftermarket cooler would dramatically decrease your temperatures.

Bearing in mind that the cut off temperature is just above 100C before your computer will shut down...but like Skunk has said, below 80C is what you want to be getting.
