New card

Hi.
Just installed my new card. PNY 9800GTX+ 512MB DDR3.
I paid £ 139.00 from Play.com
No problems, great.

My old card was a Xpertvision 8500GT 512MB DDR2.

UT3 was running at 2 & 2 on the video settings and I was getting about 20 - 30 fps.
Now I'm running 5 & 5 80 - 100 fps.
Setup with drivers that came with it, 178 I think.
Will leave for a few days then update to the latest drivers.
I can't believe the difference, I'm over the moon with it.

Was looking at a 260 GTX but money is short and we have just gone on to 3 day working, not looking good for the future.

Re: New card

glad to hear your cards running...

the GTX+ is a great card, the daddy of the G92 core (it would probably out perform an ultra but don't quote me), & @ 1680x1050 it will max most games for a while to come...

(& i love play.com )

Re: New card

how would a 9800gtx+ perorm compared to an 8800gts 512 OC? i looked at some of the benchmark tests comparing the two on toms hardware, didnt see much difference in the stats.

Re: New card

Hi fieseler.
Don't look like much improvement from a 8800 to a 9800.
Just a few fps.
