| vist hp 32 on one and vista hp 64 bit on the other | graphic card memory hi guys im fairly new to this i have 2 laptops one is a hp pavillion dv9700 with a nvidia geforce 8400m gs and the other is a hp dv7-1135nr with a ati radeon hd 3200 grapics which is built n to the board how can i check the amount it has and how much more i can add to each the dv9700 has vista hp 32 bit and the dv7 has vista hp 64 bit any help is appreciated and welcome |

| Vista x64 + Windows 7 x64 (Ultimate) | Re: graphic card memory Something tells me that you are either misreading or misunderstanding how memory is read but, since I don't quiet understand it myself, I'll let the gurus here take a stab at it. I think that what you are seeing is the total ram of your system and 256 is dedicated for the onboard card since you can not add memory to your video cards AFAIK, you can only add more RAM to your system. See, for instance, PC video cards come with 256, 512, 768 or more RAM incorporated on the card to assist the system RAM, I believe the main purpose of this is to help rendering the new High-Tech-Next-Gen Games. Onboard card, for the most part, use the RAM already in the system since those are attached to the motherboard. |

| vist hp 32 on one and vista hp 64 bit on the other | Re: graphic card memory yeah prolly so the computer is maxed out at 4 gig on the 9700 the dv7 will take up to 8 gig but i ain going that till i got the money to buy it its hella exspensive though ill get it done one day and i dont believe virtual memory will help increase that either |
