ATI Radeon hd 3200 HDMI problems

Hello,
I am hoping to find some guidance on how to view the contents of my laptop on my television. It seems straightforward, but I can not seem to get it to work. I have a Panasonic TH50PX80U (720p) plasma television and HP Pavilion dv 7-1135nr laptop with an ATI Radeon hd 3200 graphics card and the Catalyst Control Center 8.4 software and drivers. I am running on Vista Home Premium 64 bit edition. My TV does not have a PC input, so I am trying to connect via the HDMI port. I have tried to start the laptop with the HDMI cable plugged in and the TV on the HDMI component. I have tried hot plugging the HDMI cable. I have tried the Fn+F4. I have tried extending my monitor in the display settings. I have tried looking up my HDMI port in the BIOS (I did not find it). I am curious as to whether this is even possible with my TV. I am at a loss; if anyone has any information that would help me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I know you state you cannot find HDMI in the bios; however, my Asus desktop board (integrated HD3200) shows the hdmi as DisplayPort Config (Enable/Disable) Disable is default. It also states in the book that surroundview has to be enabled under the aperature setting. I have never tested these as I installed add-on card (nvidia 8800) for my build.

Not sure this helps but at least a little more info.
