| Vista Ultimate x64 | Problem with screen resolution Hi! I'm running Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I have a 24" LG Flatron L246WP-BN HD widescreen monitor and an integrated Radeon HD 3300 GPU on my ASUS M3A78-T mobo. After buying the monitor I realized it wouldn't work properly with my old system so I built a completely new one. (Check out my full system specs.) The monitor's native resolution is 1920 x 1200. The problem I'm having is that I can't set the resolution higher than 1280 x 720. If I do I lose almost one-half of my screen (everything shifts to the left so I can't even see my Start button, etc.). Am I doing something wrong? What good is it having a widescreen 24" 1920 x 1200 HD monitor if I lose half the screen by setting it to it's native resolution? Thanks for any help you can provide! |

| vista home premium 32 bit | Re: Problem with screen resolution I have the identical problem after playing a game. My laptop is acer aspire 5920 vista home premium 15.4" graphic media accelerator 3100 2gb ddr2 CORE 2 DUO Processor 5750. My screen resolution has changed to 800x 600 while minimum requirement is 1280x 800. I would appreciate if someone can guide how to restore the resolution. |

| Vista x64 + Windows 7 x64 (Ultimate) | Re: Problem with screen resolution Not knowing ATI at all, it will be hard for me to know what the problem is but we can always speculate and wait for someone else to correct me. My first thought would be that the video card is not powerful enough for the monitor, the video driver needs to be updated to the newest... if you can't get a 2009 driver, you will be better off looking for a newer video card. The other thing I would try is installing newer drivers for your monitor... 64 bit drivers preferable. I am almost certain that if you go under Device Manager/Monitor you will have the "Std or Generic PnP Monitor" and not your Monitor's brand and model. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Problem with screen resolution Exactly what I was thinking. Before trying to find it on the manufacturer's site, if you haven't yet manually check through Windows Update and see if it shows up there (one of the few times I recommend WU for a driver). |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Problem with screen resolution Hi nnicko First update your monitor drivers from here: LG Downloads Then update your chipset, audio, lan etc drivers from here: ASUS Downloads You will need to reboot after each one has installed. Once you've done that come back here and click the link in my signature below and download the updates under STEP 2. The reboot your pc. If you need help doing any of the above then just ask. |
