| vista home premium 64 | re: monitor not working with vga I had a monitor that did that, turned out to be one of the pins in VGA connector was pushed back into the casing. I bodged it up by pulling the pin back with pliers, but changed the cable in the end. I have also seen a monitor with one of the pins bent around and against the metal case, that was also carefully straightened, and worked fine. Of course your monitor problem may not be anything to do with the above :-( Barry |

| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | re: monitor not working with vga I think you have to go into the monitors menu and set it up for digital input or analog input. |

| Vista Home Premium 32-bit & Vista Ultimate 64-bit both Service Pack 2 W7 Pro RTM 7600 32 & 64 | re: monitor not working with vga I agree with Barry in that your best option would be to replace the monitor cable, especially as you have had this problem with it before. Just because the pins on the connectors are OK it doesn't mean to say that the wiring in the cable itself is. One or more of the wires may have a break somewhere which can cause this problem, especially if the cable is tightly folded and bound for the sake of cable management. |

| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | re: monitor not working with vga Does this monitor support both HDMI and analog? If so, I believe you need to set that up in the monitor menu were you also set contract and brightness etc. |
