Vista - 185.85 drivers cause some games to have low textures, help needed?

I used to update drivers as soon as I got the word that they existed... not anymore! I have seen and also experienced way to many headaches with them (not all with video drivers though!).

I only update drivers when I really have to or something has stopped working in my games.

You have a Clinical Eye for sure MrNeeds but yeah, there is an obvious difference betwee the last 2 images (even though they are not taken on the same spot).

Being that you have tried going up and down with the video drivers, would you consider uninstalling your video, display and sound and re install new ones of all 3 just for test and giggles?

Why? well, no logical reason but then again... why not? It can't hurt.

if you look in my first post, it is turned off. its stupid that some games have a problem with it, its only one new feature.

and asta, i dont know what the issue is, it does exactly the same thing on Windows 7, same drivers and same game, same hardware, fresh install, it's definatey the GPU drivers, and i cant do anything to fix them apart from rolling back to 182.50's

Are you playing any other game right now that takes advantage of the newer drivers? if so, I would suggest finishing up that game with the older drivers and then continue on with the other games with the newer drivers. If not, then that is cool, just revert back to the 182.50 enjoy the game and don't let it bother you so much, although, I know I would be upset right now if that would be happening to me.

i play trackmania competitively in a clan, so i need it running a ok, but nvidia are messing about with the drivers.
