Problem Seeing Graphics Card

Hey a while ago I was having crazy graphics card problems, so I went out and bought a new ATI (I think it's an ATI Radeon 8450 or something like that, but don't quote me on that).

Anyways, that solved my problem, but now I have a new one. I had to reformat and reinstall windows because I was having some weird issues. These were solved, but now my video games won't run. I did a little digging around and ended up at the device manager. Rather than listing my video card under display adapters it says "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" I think this is clearly the problem, and I'm wondering why it doesn't list my ATI card here and how I can get it to. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

It doesn't list your ATI card because you have not installed the latest ATI drivers for it so Vista install the Generic drivers that come with the OS.

Go to Ati, download the latest drivers for your card & OS, copy the file to a folder you'll remember later. Go to the downloaded file, right click on it and "Run as Administrator", follow instructions and restart.

Check to see if you have the correct Monitor drivers or if you are using the Generic PnP drivers. If the latter, do exactly what you did with the video drivers.

You should be good to go after that.
