| vista home prem 64 | Re: Which is a better one? -the 295 is a 2 gpu card , like CF\SLI but on one card and is the fastest one slot card at this time. so it's more than just bench marks. -the 295 should be 50-70% faster = more fps, over a 4890 given equal tasks and driver surport -295 is 2x 275's at lower clocks on one card -4890 = 275 depending on the game , cpu ,settings -2x 4890[cf] would be better, than a 295 , 4890 has more memory. -2x 275[sli] would be better than a single 295 if the board can do sli -better = cooler , overclock's higher , if the game does not have multi gpu ,the one card will run faster , no custom drivers , if one craps out you can still have a working machine , my .02 |

| Vista Ultimate x64 SP2 | Re: Which is a better one? Hi guys, I've built, re-built, transformed and destroy computers all my life and tried hundreds of different graphic cards in thousands of computers and toay, I'm married to nVidia and using the MSI flavored GTX 295. I am surprised on how good it is and what a great body they did to it. temperature is not an issue and trully, only one of them is more than enough for today games. I play Grid, WoW, Dirt, Crisys and some other hi-end graphic games with all or at least most of the video options at max and the result is way more than enough (never below the 30 and up to 140 fps in every game). I know ATI has a great product too in the latest cards no doubt about that but IMHO, nVidia is the way to go. I don't know.. it just feel right. Every time I've used ATI in the past, I ended selling the cards to my friends after a couple of weeks. I just didn't like them for myself. BTW you need a 750W peek PSU for a single gtx 295 but a 850W is recommended. If you can, and have the motherboard for that, buy a 1000W so you are ready for a second video card in the future (1200W if you a running more that 7 coolers and 4 HDDs). Cheers, |

It's also a good place to prove your point as well!!! My point - even though Nvidia "officially" recommemds a 680 Watt Power Supply (GeForce GTX 295), tests show that a "single" GTX295 GPU comsumes less then 470 watts under full load. In fact it shows that it consumes less than a 4870x2. | Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 | Re: Which is a better one? Quote: BFG states the minimum power requirements as a 680W PSU that has a combined 12V current rating of 46A or more. Incidentally my little ole Antec Neo HE 550 watt Power Supply meets that amp rating. ![]() Antec NeoPower 550 Power Supply Review | Hardware Secrets Last edited by sygnus21; 07-14-2009 at 01:09 AM.. |
