| Vista Home Premium 64bit | Video card stoles 1 GB of my RAM! I have 4GB of RAM and it shows only 3GB of RAM in Vista Home Prem(64bit) and in DXdiag I saw 2 GB of ram is being used by the video card but the video card I bought have only 1 GB of RAM... here is Screenshot: http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/5231/ram.jpg Please help me, I need to get back that 1GB stolen by the video card... |

| Vista business x64 | Re: Video card stoles 1 GB of my RAM! It looks like your graphics card driver has 'allocated' 1gb of your system ram for dedicated use by your graphics card. If you run a lot of games, this is not a bad setup and I suggest not changing it. If you run a lot of resource-eating applications that require a lot of memory feel free to change it. !!IMPORTANT NOTICE!!: only 64bit applications are able to use more than +-2gb of your system ram, same goes for games etc. If you really dont like it however I suggest looking into your video card driver setup. there should be an option there somewhere stating it has reallocated system memory for graphics usage. |
