Re: I Need Help....

you can't think of graphics cards working with the processor, but which graphics card works with your motherboard, if you got an X2 processor, I can only assume you have a PCI-E x16 slot on your motherboard, if this is the case, then you can have any GPU you desire within the limited price range that you stated.

To truly find out which graphics card you can get for sure, you would need to find out which motherboard you have so we can find out which card best suits your needs

Re: I Need Help....

Hmmm, all I can find about the motherboard is model K8M800-8237. Also, I am using windows system information and it says there are 3 slots. 2 PCI and 1 AGP. Only 1 PCI is open.

Any recommendations are much appreciated.

Re: I Need Help....

K8M800-8237 isn't enough to go on. That is the chipset that is on the motherboard (Via K8M800), and despite most of the motherboard manufacturer's (Asus, ECS, Biostar, etc) using that chipset, they also used that number in the motherboard model number.

That being said from I can see from a quick look here,

K8M800 - Google Search

most of them came with an AGP slot. Grab this,

SIW | System Information for Windows by Gabriel Topala

and it should be able to tell you who made the motherboard (socket 754 from what I can see) and the exact model number.

P.S. Might want to do yourself a favor and forget about getting a new card for that computer, because if it is AGP (PCI isn't even worth talking about) then you will pretty much be wasting money as you won't be able to move the card over to a new system that will have a PCI-E slot (not to be confused with PCI).
