Blinking / resolution changing

Hello,

When I log in, my Vista is turning screen off for a half of second. Then it is turning in on again. It does it twice every time I log in. And sometimes it changes resolution to lower.

System behaves in that way since I bought my notebook.

Hardware:
Notebook HP Compaq 6720s
Graphic card: Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family

Software:
Windows Vista Home Basic

Please help me to solve that problem.

could you go into device manager (type device manager in search) and look for display. See if you 965 is listed there and does it have a yellow triangle on it? If it isnt there is there any unknown devices (with yellow triangles)

Let us know the results

Thanks for answering.

It isn't in displays menu, but it is in Graphic cards menu.
In displays menu there is only Plug and Play display.

I don't know, what resolution is native. In resolution settings 1280x800 is maximum, but I don't know if it is caused by display or graphic card. (I think rather by display).

And it sometime changes to 1024x768.

When you boot (before the video driver is loaded) the resolution is 800x600, when the driver is loaded it changes to the resolution determined by the video card and monitor. so it may not be a problem at all.

When I log in the resolution is 1280x800 and then it changes.

Another situation: when it wakes up from sleep it has resolution 1280x800 and then resolution changes.

__EDITED:

It is problem because of blinking. Before I start work I need to wait until my screen blinks twice. (one blink, then short or longer break and another blink - it is very annoying)

Blinking has some sort of relevance here. Do you have the latest driver for graphics and chipset? If yes, if you have a video card, remove it and put it in again.

I don't think it was problem of drivers, because my notebook behaves in that way since I bought it. (All drivers were preinstalled)

And I can't remove video card because it is integrated.

mine also goes out and comes back on and then a message pops up that says video has stopped and recovered and then something about nvlddmkm.dll! only on start up tho
