what so important about the 6 pin connecter?

PCI-E slot can provide only 75w, PCI-E 2.0 150w , pci-e 6 pin connector 75w and pci-e 8 pin connector 150w

with the ATI cards the six pin comes with the card.......
also.... if your spending as much as a 9800gt costs just go ahead and get a 4870..... although i doubt your psu can handle either of them

You do realize that the only difference betweeen the drivers directly from ATI and getting them from the card manufacturer, is that the one from the manufacturer has their name in it somewhere?

@ kiddieboy12, with the power supply you bought I would add any card that requires a power supply connection. Let's just say that you tend to get what you pay for when you cheap out on the power supply, and hope that if/when it dies, it doesn't take anything else with it.

ya i do captain haha i just mean they do a better job on the hardware end thus they work better with the drivers
