Monitor is fine i have tried it on my other pc. Thx Gman It feels like a hardware issue more than software. Might be a bent pin on the graphic card or cable or a loose wire on the card. Can you pull the graphic card and try it on another machine? Ken J |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: color red gone please help I can't do that. I got a HP Pavilion Slimline which the card is on the motherboard. I tried removing and putting th cable back but didn't work. I guess i can still open up the PC and check it out. Strange thing is that a few days ago it went back to normal but only lasted a few minutes. |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: color red gone please help If it came back, I lean towards bad cable. I say that as once the card goes bad, it isn't likely to recover. Hmm... Have you tried different monitors ? Or checked the cable to the monitor ? I have seen monitors go out more often than video cards, in my experience anyway. edit: On second thought. Its the cable or monitor. The pin on the cable supplying red could be it. Or the red color electronics in the monitor is bad. Change monitors, and if that isn't it then try another video cable. | Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: color red gone please help Not sure cause i connected the monitor with the same cable to my laptop and everything works fine. Only when i put it back on my pc this happenes. I thought it would be the drivers being faulty with vista. thx for helping |

| Vista Ultimate 32-bit & Business 32-bit | Re: color red gone please help Well, you've ruled out the monitor and the cable, and it's unlikely to be video drivers or setup -- unless you've been messing with the Gamma setting or the RGB mixes. The most likely culprit is the video chipset in the HP. And, if that's true, the only fix will be an add-in card --which, if there is no room for expansion in the case, rules that out as well. I'm guessing the unit has been out of warranty for a long time as well, right? |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: color red gone please help well this what i have done.... got a new video card and nothing doing. I checked out some motherboards and i got one that will match under $65CDN and a new tower Under $60CDN so gonna transfer everything over. Its not costing me much and now i can actually add to my pc which with a slimline u cant. Will post to see if it was my motherboard. thxs |
