Hi and welcome

You need to boot into safe mode (F8) once there adjust your monitot to a lower resolution and refresh rate

Let us know if that doesnt help

Try doing a power-cycle. Remove battery and unplug from AC Power. Hold down power button for 90 seconds- That discharges the capacitors and may help with this issue. There are some further troubleshooting steps I have to resolve you issue but try this one first. After you've completed this step, re-connect AC Power and try turning it on without the battery. If you get a display, let the computer boot all the way into Windows and THEN insert the battery.

Let me know if that helps :)

-Also, can I get the Service Tag of your Notebook if this doesn't resolve your issue post your Service Tag so I can find some further steps for troubleshooting. :)

Updating your BIOS might help so that this issue does not happen again - It is a known issue with your Notebook model. DELL Released a BIOS Update which fixes it ( This is an issue with the controller thinking the computer is asleep when it is not )

I have the same problem, my laptop hanged while I was watching video, the screen gone green and totally hanged, not even ctrl+shift+del worked. I have to force it off by pressing power button. After I restarted, I could see there is light from LCD, but totally nothing shown, even until I heard the sound of windows started, not even BIOS could be shown. I still could adjust the brightness of the LCD.
I have tried the above ways, but I could not even see the BIOS screen, & even after the power-cycle, the problem still exists. My service tag is 4MZPV1S.
Please help me Timmah~!

Looks like there may be an issue with the LCD or the Video Card on your unit. Try connecting the unit to an external monitor and see if you get a display that way.
If you do get a display, then it is more likely an issue with the LCD...

If you can't get a display, then it would be your Video Card :/

Either way I hope you are under warranty w/DELL.

Hi, I'm having the same problem. When I press the power button, I get the initial screen with the dell logo and the bar fills up to the end. However the next screen is black with a blinking cursor. F8 does not even work for me to be able to reach safe mode. Please help!!!
