Problem--Until
just recently i was able to connect my laptop to various tv's using a 15 pin VGA cable when required.Everything worked fine i.e. what was on my laptop was also on the tv screen.
However i now get a bright pink background and some images and icons are distinguishable wmp is like a film negative.
This happens on all tv's .I have tried the following -

1) New VGA cable.
2) Made sure VGA plug sits flat on the corresponding port and locking screws are done up finger tight.
3) Checked that none of the pins looked bent or broken.

The following with my limited knowledge and the help of goggle.
4) Tried to update display driver as follows.
>control panel >Device Manager >Display Adaptors comes up mobile Intel (R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family. This device is working properly.
>Driver comes up Driver Provider Intel Corp
Driver Date 30/11/2009
Driver version 8.15.1.1986
Digital signature microsoft
>Update Driver >Search automatically for updated software
comes up after search-- Windows has determined that the software is upto date.

STILL have pink screen when pc is connected to tv.Any ideas, any instructions
PLEASE in basic step by step stages.
Thanks for any help.

This sounds to me of more of a hard ware problem than a software problem due to the pink; this being a tell tail sign of a bad connection.
From personal experience with a multitude of displays even a VGA plug that looks in isn't necessarily making contact due to general wear and tear caused by plugging and unplugging and any bending of the plug while in the socket.
I would recommend lightly moving the plugs both in the laptop and the TV/Monitor while they are not screwed in and look for any change.
If your Laptop has an S-Video port give that a try and see if that works.
If possible try with another computer or another TV monitor.
Has this connection worked on this TV before?
Also this may sound odd but try booting your PC into safe mode (go into boot options and choose boot options while booting) and try it then; I've had some luck with this before.
You could also try putting your PC into 16bit colour display. I have no idea if that will work or not but it's worth a try.
I hope this helps and wish you luck.
Please post your results here for me to see.
