Ati video cards

I have question:
I have an ATI All in Wonder PCIE and a ATI AIW NON PCIE Video cards
- my mobo has slots for both
-could I use both of them in this machine?
-I can't think of any harm it could do to try, BUT, if I was so darned experienced I doubt that I would be posting this!

Anybody have any suggestions?

yahoodave, welcome to the forums.

As long as the driver for both are the same, I don't see it being a problem. If they both use a different driver then it probably won't work.

Seen it a lot with Windows 7 and cards from the same manufacturer (newer ATI with older ATI, or newer Nvidia with older Nvidia) where the newer card uses the new WDDM 1.1 driver and the older card doesn't. What happens is the driver from the older card cancels out the driver for the newer one.

if you want to use both of them at the same time, you have to see if they are compatible with ati crossfire. make sure you have enough psu watts and amps on the rail to support crossfire.

Crossfire has nothing to do with it, and is not required to run two cards at the same time. What he is looking to do is use the TV part of the two AIW cards at the same time, no different really than running two cards to use for monitors.
