GPU Bank Flip *new*

I still can find nothing about this setting other than what I have found here. This person hackerdemon looks to have registered just to post his/her knowledge on the subject and seems to take great offense at giving the source of his/her findings. I have not found any information with would disprove what s/he said but I also have found nothing that proves it. In my motherboard manual says

GPU Bank Flip
The Choices: Disabled (default), Enabled.

It is very vague.

I hope you all can understand my repost

First I want to say thank you to hackerdemon for the insight provided. I have seen this setting in bios.

My question is this....

hackerdemon,
why do you take offense to teaching others how to find their own information. I would love to read more about this setting and exactly how I can use it properly. Have you found your information in a book, online or by trial and error.

If you used a book, what book?

If you found it online, where?

If you found it by trial and error, can you explain?

I understand that I may not get a reply to the original but the question is still out there.]

Is this a valid synopsis for this setting?

and also

Where can I watch the movie?

So considering that the original is the only relevant info from google......

Does anyone know what this setting is or do I begin email graphics card companies?

Thanks for any info

not very helpful but this is what i find.... badly translated:

In the BIOS of the gpu bank flip what it meant, in my online search results with on-board graphics-related settings, but my computer does not use the onboard graphics.
它应该如何翻译。
It should be how to translate.
启用不启用有什么区别。
What is the difference is not enabled is enabled.

Thank you very much I want to be like this, scores for you,
Enabling this feature enables the graphics card to enjoy the basic core computer memory.

personally i get the impression that this GPU bank flip serves only the purpose of switching memory banks, I.e, say you have on-board graphics with only 512MB memory, you require more.... lets say 1GB for a game or 3D program..... you enable bank switch to use your system memory where you can exceed the required limit, though it would not be advisable where you have a lower Memory count and all would be used leaving you with no free ram or anything less than the rest of you system requires to operate.... (use only where you have spare 2-3GB installed) But do not quote me on this

it makes sense, i havent come across a program or a bios setting that can allocate ram amounts to the GPU (onboard or otherwise), but from past experience, i wouldnt allocate any extra ram to the GPU anyway as i would expect it to give me undesired results (GPU overheat or even crashing), try and fiddle about with the setting and see what happens Zeobo, maybe you will be the key to finding out what this feature does and help a lot of users with the same problem :)

It make more sense the more i think about it.....

As MrNeeds says "undesired results (GPU overheat or even crashing)"

Ok so lets look at it from another angle.....

This GPU Bank flip seems quite a new thing (could be wrong tho)
Most GPU's now run using DDR3
New Mobo's now run DDR3 System Memory
Thus DDR3 System Ram therefore must meet same as DDR3 GPU Ram (no compatibility issues!!??)
BUT if you run bank flip with DDR3 GPU along with DDR2 System Ram the the GPU must Strain to get the calculations threw (something similar)
So if this theory is anywhere near correct then to use GPU Bank flip then you must be sure you get the ram timings and Type corret, I.e DDR2 matched with DDR2 or DDR3 Matched with DDR3

If you insist on DDR2 with DDR3 or DDR3 with DDR2 then you ask for system instability
