i recently reformatted my computer to clear it out and help it run a bit faster. its working great now but for some reason websites that only contain text show in widescreen mode and others like espn will get centered in the middle and the site doesn't look right. i didn't have this problem before the reformatting. i updated all drivers and did all the windows updates that i could still nothing to fix this one problem. some one help please its really bugging me. here are some pics to show what i am talking about. the zoom feature distorts the picture so that doesn't work. i have the setting at the native setting of 1680x1050 which is what it has always been at. before when going on all sites the entire page would fill the screen. now it seems like its just one column in the middle of the screen??? site with text only stretch to widescreen fine but others with video and such will not.IMG00081-20101019-1611.jpg

this is completely normal, only a handful of websites support widescreen formats, there are a couple of ways you can overcome this, resize the window (to fit website size) or change resolution to a 4:3 or 5:4 format (for some people, this is not a viable option), vista and seven forums both support widescreen formats and have themes at the bottom of the page to reflect this, sorry but its something you probably didnt want to hear, you're going to have to live with it until websites support widescreen.

i would agree and not worry about the resolution if that is how my computer had always been. for example, the espn website used to fill my entire screen. now it seems that it centers it or turns it into a 4:3 ratio. this also only happened when i reformatted the computer. before all the websites looked completely fine.

It's never been like that for me, maybe your drivers weren't installed for your graphics card and it only set it as a 4:3 or a 5:4 resolution without your knowledge, mine has always shown as 4:3 format, it just looks weird when websites are in wide format, too much area to look at.
