Solved Help with disabling intergrated graphics

HI i got a sapphire radeon HD4350 to replace my intergrated graphics. I first installed on windows xp. worked fine. BUT if i try vista it doesnt work.

heres what i did.

Installed vista
inserted graphics card

loaded fine on 640X4-- woteva.

INSTALLED DRIVERS. none failed

now MY SCREEN WONT WORK.It goes past the Microsoft boot screen but then the screen stays blank while i hear the windows sound.


WOTS GOING ON?

Have you tried booting in safe mode?
Normally when you use an add in graphics card the onboard is disabled by default.

no it dont work. in safe mode the screen hangs at the last driver it loads.

My specs are

Windows Vista 32bit Genuine

MOTHERBOARD: ONTAI OT-945LM4 socket 478

Ram: 1.5GB DDR2 667MHz

PSU: 500w (the cards specs 300w min)

BIOS: AMI BIOS 2006. NO idea how to update

Have you turned your intergrated video off in the bios?

You did get the right driver for Vista correct?

1. Yes the drivers came with the CD AND also from amd website. 2. I have no idea how to disable in BIOS. At least it doesnt say.

Oh and the motherboard manual says nothing intresting either. Loads of spelling mistakes likeit was written by a child.

Your board is very obscure, where did you scalvage it from?? a dell hp? ibm??

i got it new from www.on-tai.com its a chinese site. its new

I am not at home at the moment so I cant do much investigation.
What is the last driver your system is trying to load.

Okay, as i'm not there, you do disconnect your onboard cable and just have the cable to the ati card plugged in correct?

I cannot remember but its a system driver. THE VERY LAST ONE THERE ISTO LOAD. I know cuz ive booted into safe mode before. I TRIED THE SAPPHIRE DRIVERS THEY DONT WORK!!!

OH and also Patonb i allways have the cable on the ATI card as i put it in cuz i realised the onboard does disable at THAT TIME. and if i leave it on the onboard it does nothing. BUT on the ati card it only goes up to windows boot.

Im using my Intergrated Graphics now. andit suck cuz i cant play my games.

here SAFE MODE drivers\crcdisk.sys. but im sure its justthe screen hanging

crcdisk.sys Is a Core Driver and is also the one of the Biggest Drivers to load so it may take some Time 5 Mins Max

ok so if i went into safe mode and it worked what would i do. Safe mode would not let me install drivers on my other pcs.

Is your cARD agp?

I seen in the d/l section for agp cards... You might have the wrong driver.

NOOO. its PCI-e the card has pci-e 2.0 support but the motherboard is just pci-e

Okay... your board is just to damn hard to find info on as i lack and ability to read chinese.

And you said the card worked in xp? Have you got all the right chipset drivers updated?

Try installing the xp driver in compatability mode.
