I have a 22" monitor (AMW22E-BACD) connect via DVi and have always enjoyed high screen resolution. Until a few days ago when the maximum screen resolution is now 1024 x 768.

I have tried a clean installation on the Nvidia drivers without success. I have tried to using device manager to change the monitor type but it only offers Non PnP and PnP monitors, both have no affect in offer better resolutions.

Any suggestions?

You may have a bad card... It is a few yrs old, so it's not unexpected.

Have you tried a different monitor?

Hi Spursfect,

In addition to what Patonb has said, you can remove the Graphics card from the computer and connect to the integrated card with VGA cable and check if the resolution is more than 1024 x 768.

Also perform System Restore (only if Software Configuration Changes were made) providing the link for your reference: System Restore - Microsoft Windows

NOTE: With system restore you will not lose any data from the computer, any new programs installed in the computer has to be reinstalled on the computer.

For any clarifications please feel free to contact me.
