HDMI looks dry/high contrast vs. VGA on external screen.

I have GT220 & the external Dell S2240L screen.

Both HDMI & VGA have same image quality in terms of text sharpness & almost same colors.

but, the HDMI looks brighter, dryer with more contrast & just worse than VGA. I have tried all screen presets, tried all brightness/contrast screen settings, still looks bad. I tried all 3 RGB channels & each one individual in NVIDIA control panel, but all that does is change the colors. The actual contrast is just bad on HDMI.

Do you think its just my GPU or screen? I was hoping to upgrade to a HD7970 soon, but that doesn't have analogue & might look the same.

Do you have the latest driver for the GT220 installed?

Do you have Image Enhancer enabled on the LCD?
