Need help with LiveServiceTraceViewer demo

I have almost all of the LiveServiceTraceViewer demo app working on
windows xp sp2. I am having trouble getting the WebHostedService
service.svc to run on IIS6. All I get is a web server error. Can WCF
services run on IIS6? What are the requirements to get a WCF service
running?

What is the exact error?

Yes, as long as a service uses an HTTP based binding.

A proper installation of the .NET Framework 3.0 should provide all you need.
You may run in trouble if you had a previous CTP installed that was not uninstalled
properly (see the article on http://www.netfx3.com/).

HTTP 500 - Internal server error

IIS log:

23:08:43 127.0.0.1 GET /LiveTraceViewerTest/service.svc 500

System event log:

W3SVC
Event ID:36
The server failed to load application '/LM/W3SVC'. The error was 'The
specified metadata was not found.'.

I notice that .net 3.0 is not a version option in the asp.net tab of the
website properties in IIS console, I assume this is normal?

Re: Need help with LiveServiceTraceViewer demo

It has something to do with XP Pro and IIS 5.1. Its not set up correctly
or can't be set up correctly I don't know. I've never used XP Pro for
development before, I've always used Server 2003 and didn't know how
fortunate I was.

Can a WCF web service be made to work on XP Pro IIS 5.1, or with the
builtin cassini server in vs8?
