RE: Transfer Rate Very Slow

What is the speed of your Linksys router?

My set up is this (and yes, I know its strange):
DSL Modem connected to 802.11b router, router hardwired to desktop, laptops
via wireless (WLAN1 network).

Wireless Bridge connected to 802.11g router, desktop and laptop via
wireless, and game systems wired. (WLAN2 network).

Using this setup, transferring from desktop/laptop to laptop/desktop over
the WLAN1 network, files between the computers this way usually leave me with
transfer rates up to 70-90KB per second.

When I connect two computers to the WLAN2 network, I see speeds up to 1.5MB
per second.

It seems like it may just be a limitation of your router. In that case,
possibly a new router is the only way to get a quicker rate.

RE: Transfer Rate Very Slow

Speed of my router is 802.11g (WRT54GL model, Linksys, 54 Mbps).

I sometimes get high speed (1.5 MB) between hardwired computers, and
sometimes I get 1.5 MB between a wireless laptop and a hardwired to router.

My setup is cable modem connected to the Linksys router, and then 2 desktops
hardwired to router, two wireless laptops, all running WinXP and Foldershare.

Most of the time I get the 70-90 KB/sec. It's very frustrating.
