Is there a Surreptitious Reason for Outage

Surely the are not this inept! Is there another reason for the outage?

1. Kill the service to get people to move to their online storage option
which is higher profile. If so, bad move. Why would I rely on a product
from the same company that failed so miserably? I guess I'm relying on
Windows so maybe I would.
2. Make us say, "I'll pay, just make it work!"
3. Maybe they are just this inept.

RE: Is there a Surreptitious Reason for Outage

Yeah, it makes no sense for a service to be down for several days.

At this rate I think they are telling us to get lost.

Given this failure I would be very reluctant to pay for FS and even less
likely to sign up for a similar service from MS.

All I see here is unreliability and headaches, the opposite of what I need
from any product or service.

Or maybe the FolderShare infrastructure isn't as solid as you think it is,
it wasn't made to scale to the number of users it has now, and they're doing
the best they can. None of us know what's really going on, so heaping
insults upon the FolderShare team isn't helping anyone.

Re: Is there a Surreptitious Reason for Outage

As the one of the team that own this, we can tell you there is no
surreptitous reasons for the outage. We love foldershare and are working to
get it back up and running.

Please wait for my post this evening for more details.

You will see many exciting details from us in the coming months.

Re: Is there a Surreptitious Reason for Outage

There you go again, Jason. NO ONE is insulting the FS team, but the people
at the top levels who are making decisions. The lowly engineers and team
lead are merely dealing with inadequate resources and a tremendous problem.

Jason continues to direct any and all criticism at the FS team. Absolutely
no one else is doing this but Jason. Shame on him.

An apology is in order, Jason, to us, and to the FS team.

Re: Is there a Surreptitious Reason for Outage

I like to call it like it is, and with Jason Dunn, I hit the nail on the
head.

Jason Dunn is a shill for Microsoft (but not for the FolderShare team, which
Jason continues to conflate with MS as he throws the team in the line of fire
directed at MS and at criticism of MS's dismal support for and communication
with the FolderShare user base).

MS and the FolderShare team are not one and the same but are different,
Jason. One can criticize MS and simultaneously have respect for the FS team,
while being cognizant that the team is hamstrung by their bosses and company.

What explains Jason being a shill, a lackey, and booster of MS? Well, I
just found out "about Jason" from his own web site where Jason states that MS
in fact employs his services. No wonder. Don't bite the hand that feeds
you....

(for background on our "spat" just have a look at the thread labeled,
"Partial Recovery")
