| | RE: Sync problems between Mac and PC versions I tried creating an support ticket with regard to this issue and alas the reponse I got was "to use the workaround to compress the files in Mac using file compression software so they will go through your Windows machines. This encryption is operating system based and since Mac and Windows use different file encryption, the option to sync encrypted data will not be possible." The alternate response I received was "FolderShare will not sync files with resource forks, as this is a security feature of Mac OS X 10 machines" Whilst I understand there are underlying File system differences between a PC and a Mac, the contents of binary files such as JPG are the same. Similiarly, whilst Mac and PCs may use different file system encryption systems, we're talking about a FolderShare -> Foldershare connection which is using different encryption and thus not able to talk to each other. Disabling the FolderShare -> FolderShare encryption option resolves the issue, thus it is neither an Encrypted File System or Resource Fork issue. Compressing files do not resolve the issue. Synchronisation with Encryption used to work - I set it up on a mixed workgroup of Macs and PCs some 12-18 months ago. Some other websites have suggested that there was a patch released on the Mac which changed the encryption method.
