| | RE: foldershare and vista 64 bit I couldn't get it to work either. I installed on my VISTA x64 and the XP Machine at the office. I kept getting error messages on my VISTA x64 machine that I didn't have access to the files to be shared. Since I was able to install it on VISTA x6, I thought it would function properly. I guess I was wrong. "Nicholas DiCola" wrote: Quote: > i downloaded ver 2.5.10 and installed on 64 bit vista i just built. Yyou may wish to verify that the Vista firewall lets it through. I also happen to use an HTTP proxy on this LAN. Foldershare version 2.5.10/build 6903 here. Chris. [1] That is, when foldershare itself is working. |

The installation on the remote XP machine went smoothly as well. When it came time for the actuall syncronisation, I kept getting errors that I didn't have access to the files on my VISTA machine that I wanted to sync. The firewall notification poped up and I unblocked it, so the firewall wasn't the problem. It had more to do with the rights to the actuall files on my VISTA machine. At any rate, if an application like that does't work right off the bat for me, it's just an indication that is isn't reall ready for prime tiime. I won't use it. Perhaps a little bit later. Besides, I have the sneaky suspiction that the service won't be "free" for long. Strangely, things like Skydrive work well right from the beginning. |
