| | Renaming sub-folders to Libraries causes duplication of sub-folder Just starting seeing this problem. I've been using Foldershare for a few years now with no issues until this one popped up. I have multiple date-formatted sub-folders in my photo Library. Once these sub-folders are synchronized, I cannot rename them without having Foldershare recognize that it is a rename and not a new folder. If I rename a sub-folder on machine 1, then FS sees it as a new folder and copies it in its entirety to machine 2. I end up with "old" folder name and "new" folder name on machine 2. Then, FS sees the "old" folder name on machine 2 and thinks it needs to copy it to machine 1 as a "new" folder. Thus, I end up with duplicate folders on both machines, one folder with the old name and one with the new name. Has anyone else run into this? Does FS really not recognize renaming actions as just that rather than creating a "new" folder? I really appreciate any feedback on this. Thanks. |

| | RE: Renaming sub-folders to Libraries causes duplication of sub-folder I routinely rename folders and have not had the issue you describe. I HAVE had OTHER issues and one thing that seemed to resolve them was to delete and then recreate the library.. when I did that I would make sure to also use a slightly different library name.. just in case using the same name would somehow retain the settings. When machine 1 connects, does its login "member" have at least Editor permission (i.e. is Editor, Senior Editor or Owner)? If it was a mere Contributor then I presume it would have the problem you described because the old name would be seen as a deletion which would not propagate and, because such deletions are not permitted, it the folder would be replaced from machine 2. The new name be seen as an addition which is permitted and that would be propagated to machine 2. Tony |
