| | Script to Restore Files to their Proper Directories Urgently Neede Well, I'd like to remind the FolderShare team that you DO have international users who name their files using something other than basic ASCII. I am a spanish speaker and just found that, due to the outrageous recent bug, now I have a 700MB, 1300+ file flat folder that I have to MANUALLY RESTORE to its original folders. Anything less than a script to automate this process in my opinion is simply unacceptable from Microsoft. I have to invest now many hours of valuable time to fix this MANUALLY. No wonder Google is getting ahead of you guys for anything Internet-related. |

| | RE: Script to Restore Files to their Proper Directories Urgently Neede I totally agree - a script is needed now. We have 1771 files we need to put back. We also have to try and trace where they came from. It is not just non-ascii files affected - it seems to be totally random. | | Re: Script to Restore Files to their Proper Directories Urgently Neede Robert, Could you please elaborate on 'random'? Any chance you can provide an example of a file deleted that did not have any special characters in its filename? | | RE: Script to Restore Files to their Proper Directories Urgently N Hi Robert, While I wait for a definitive solution I just copied all the files from the Foldershare trash to a flat folder inside my Documents folder to let Windows Vista index it for search. I have gotten used to the search function in Vista to find files. Its a stop-gap measure only. "Robert M Freeman" wrote: Quote: > I totally agree - a script is needed now. | | RE: Script to Restore Files to their Proper Directories Urgently N I have the same problem and noticed that all my files containing non ASCII caracters were sent to the trash. I have 1987 files wrongly "trashed". I need help. My vista is in Brazilian Portuguese.
