Vista - speed inconsistency

I have been using Foldershare for a few years now. I have noticed that some
of my computers in the LAN can sync at >500kB per second. But the 2
computers that I use the most only sync at approx 30kB /s. They are all in
the same LAN, using the same wireless channel, router etc.
This was most obvious when I got a new Vista computer last week and
installed FolderShare. It moved files at more than 1MB/s to and from my old
computers.
I am wondering what settings there may be in the (older XP SP2) computers
that could be slowing FolderShare's speed. I think it must be the computers'
fault because they all use the same router.

i don't know any way to fix this, but i've noticed that too... i think it's
just the router causing that. syncing between wireless and wired computers
and between two wireless computers are slower than syncing between two wired
computers.

Yeah, I've seen the same thing over the years - it's router related I
believe, but the problem has persisted over multiple routers and seems to be
quite random. There's no fix that I'm aware of.
