| | speed inconsistency I have been using Foldershare for a few years now. I have noticed that some of my computers in the LAN can sync at >500kB per second. But the 2 computers that I use the most only sync at approx 30kB /s. They are all in the same LAN, using the same wireless channel, router etc. This was most obvious when I got a new Vista computer last week and installed FolderShare. It moved files at more than 1MB/s to and from my old computers. I am wondering what settings there may be in the (older XP SP2) computers that could be slowing FolderShare's speed. I think it must be the computers' fault because they all use the same router. |

| | RE: speed inconsistency i don't know any way to fix this, but i've noticed that too... i think it's just the router causing that. syncing between wireless and wired computers and between two wireless computers are slower than syncing between two wired computers. | | Re: speed inconsistency Yeah, I've seen the same thing over the years - it's router related I believe, but the problem has persisted over multiple routers and seems to be quite random. There's no fix that I'm aware of. Jason Dunn www.digitalhomethoughts.com |
