Unable to login to FolderShare website

Hi,

I've been unable to login with my FS id/pwd today; yesterday it worked,
because I stumbled onto the fact that FS had been updated and logged in to
take a look.

My FS id/pw are NOT the same as my Windows Live id/pwd; never needed to be
the same. Am I just hosed trying to use a non-Live account now? If so, I'm
really peeved we had no prior notice of this. I love FS and use it ALL the
time, but even beta users deserve notice of such a drastic change (if it did
in fact change)...

Re: Unable to login to FolderShare website

Chris, you do not need a LiveID account in order to login to FolderShare.
The credentials are not the same. You should use your regular FolderShare
username and password.
Could you please tell me whether you are still experiencing difficulties
logging in and whether your FolderShare Beta Client is logged in or not.

Thank you in advance,
Anton

Re: Unable to login to FolderShare website

Andrew,

Sorry about the tenor of that last post... I was upset. My apologies.

A couple of hours after the initial post, I was able to login to the
website. I don't believe the clients/satellites ever had trouble sync'ing.

I have 3 clients running WinXP, 1 on Win2K3, and 1 on OSX. All the Windows
clients are still on version 2.5.10 (build 6903). I'm leery of upgrading
right away; I've got nearly 4200 files sync'ed thru my biggest library.

So, am I to understand that the FS website/client login won't change with
this move to Windows Live?

Thanks for your help.

Nope, that shouldn't be the case - AFAIK, FolderShare isn't linked into the
Live/Passport system in any way (though it will be eventually I'm sure). Can
you contact FolderShare tech support? Or, better yet, use the "Forgot your
password" tool?

Re: Unable to login to FolderShare website

Hi Chris,

The updated website does not support Live ID. We will support Live ID in a
future release.

Your FS User ID and Password is what you should continue to use.

We had some issues this morning. Are you still having trouble logging onto
the website? Can you client sign-in ok?

thx
-Mohammed

Re: Unable to login to FolderShare website

My client could always sign in just fine, as far as I could tell. I never
noticed any issues there. I had difficulty signing into the website - it kept
redirecting me to the login page and that kept failing.

Re: Unable to login to FolderShare website

Hi Chris,

We've seen one other instance like this where a user's client can sign-in,
but they can not sign-in to the website.

If you are still seeing this problem, can you send me a private mail at
MSamji@xxxxxx. We'd like to collect some more information from you as
try to debug this specific issue.

thx
-Mohammed
