| | Cannot Upgrade - Old Version Won't Uninstall I've upgraded 3 of 5 machines so far without incident. The fourth is "stuck" because the old version won't uninstall. I'm asked for the file location of the original install MSI file. While this seemed odd, I did have it, but it still won't work. An attempt to uninstall the old version first results in the same problem. Any ideas? If I can't uninstall, I can't upgrade! Also, MSFT folks, why not send an email to users when there is such a major change? Our darn username is our email address! - Jared in NYC |

| | Re: Cannot Upgrade - Old Version Won't Uninstall Thanks for the post, This sounds like a corrupt installer issue. If that's the case, the following workaround should do the trick: **IMPORTANT: Read the information on the support link page BEFORE downloading and using the utility. 1. Download Windows Installer CleanUp Utility from: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;290301 2. Go to C:\Program Files\Windows Installer Clean Up and run the msicuu cleanup application. 3. You will see a window with all your installed applications. Select ByteTaxi FolderShare and click Remove. This should uninstall the older version of FolderShare and enable you to install the newer one. Unfortunately, you might need to remap all your libraries on that device. Hope this helps, Anton "Richi Jennings" <richi.msnews@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:OhfTEcbhIHA.944@xxxxxx Quote: > AltoidsGuy wrote: Quote: >> The fourth is "stuck" because the old version won't uninstall.
